First UK Law Firm IPO On June 8

When the U.K. law firm Gateley is listed on the Alternative Investment Market on June 8, it will be valued at about $190 million. The IPO will make 30 percent of the 400-lawyer firm available to the public, and the firm’s seven partners will split $38 million, says The Financial Post. The firm was the second to secure an alternative business structure license, which allows firms to raise capital from outside partnership.
