Felons Put Maine’s Supreme Court Justices To Work

The number of felony drug cases in Maine has reached such a point that the state’s Supreme Court justices will begin to sit cases this spring to whittle down the backlog. The overall criminal docket is down, but a drug epidemic has led to an uptick in cases. The Maine Supreme Court justices will select one month in which they won’t hear appeals, and rather sit in on the felony trials.
