Federal Courts Declare Employees Essential, Judge Tell Congress: ‘Go To Hell’

Nearly a quarter of federal appeals and district courts have declared all employees “essential,” flouting the government shutdown and, in the words of one district judge, tell Congress to “go to hell.” U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf of the District of Nebraska wrote on his blog that in light of such action by the courts, Congress would have two choices: do nothing, or “go batshit, and the judiciary and Congress could have it out.”
