Ex-BigLaw Partner Faces Insider Trading Charges

Robert Schulman, a former patent lawyer at Hunton & Williams, along with a financial services advisor, was indicted and charged with securities fraud and conspiracy. Allegedly, Schulman learned about a pending merger between King Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer through his representation in a patent litigation. According to prosecutors, he gave the information to his investment adviser, who purchased King stock for himself, the attorney and other clients.
