Euan Sutherland Quits Co-operative Group After 10 Months

Euan Sutherland will resign as CEO of The Co-operative Group after just 10 months in the job in the face of opposition to his reforms for the mutually owned chain of supermarkets, funeral homes and pharmacies. The Leaked details of Sutherland’s pay published in the Observer led him to claim on Facebook that “an individual or individuals” were determined to undermine him. In a resignation letter to the group’s chair, Sutherland said the group was “ungovernable.”
