E-Discovery Unit Equals Big Bucks For Winston & Strawn

In lieu of retaining an outside vendor, law firm Winston & Strawn has developed its own e-discovery unit, which for the last three years has experienced double-digit revenue growth, and which in 2013 brought in more than $20 million, the firm told The Washington Post and. The earnings are minor compared to the firm’s overall $741 million in overall revenue for 2013, but “as a differentiator to our clients, it’s huge,” said John Rosenthal, head of the firm’s e-discovery practice. It’s reported that as of this year, the firm has begun offering its e-discovery service to other law firms, even those who might be competitors in the litigation market.
