Donald Trump’s Hair Latest Legal Headache For Gawker

The same lawyers who won a major privacy lawsuit against Gawker Media over former wrestler Hulk Hogan’s sex tape are now suing the publisher for an article concerning Donald Trump’s hair. In an article early this year entitled, “Is Donald Trump’s Hair a $60,000 weave? A Gawker Investigation,” the news site reported that a “tipster” said Trump’s hair was not his own, and cost tens of thousands of dollars for installation and upkeep. In a letter, Hogan attorney Charles J. Harder listed 19 “false and defamatory” statements in the article, and said Gawker’s actions caused emotional distress to Edward Ivari, whose clinic, Ivari International, was credited with Trump’s hairdo. Harder wrote that, by publishing the article, Gawker exposed the clinic to “substantial monetary damages and punitive damages.”
