DOJ Will Delay Indictments Against VA Governor

The Department of Justice will delay pursuing lawsuits against Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R) and his wife, Maureen, on allegations that they accepted hundreds of thousands in gifts and services in exchange for promoting a Virginia-based nutrients company. The Justice Department is now not likely to pursue the charges until after Jan. 11, 2014, when McDonnell’s successor, Terry McAuliffe (D), takes office.
