David Dorman to EBay Board Under Agreement With Icahn

A bitter dispute between online vendor EBay and notorious shareholder activist and billionaire Carl Icahn has ended in a settlement that will see former AT&T executive David Dorman named to the board. Icahn had entered a bid for two seats on the e-commerce giant’s board, and was demanding the company sell a minority stake in its PayPal unit to shareholders. Icahn has accused two sitting board members – venture capitalist Marc Andreessen and Intuit’s chairman, Scott Cook – of having conflicts of interest, and EBay CEO John J. Donahoe of not acting in the best interests of shareholders.
