Current Enforcement Trends In EU Competition Law

Linklaters partner Bernd Meyring looks at recent trends in competition law in Europe. During the last ten years, he says, enforcers in Europe have been busy waging “a war on cartels,” as former Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes put it in 2006. A trend that has been less visible is the focus on some business practices other than traditional hard-core cartel behavior, including certain kinds of information exchanges among competitors.
