New Litigation Equation, Now That Court Docs “Go Viral”

Members of the public have always been able to get their hand on most court filings, but it was a cumbersome and somewhat costly process. With electronic filing and the Internet, that has changed. A New York Times article looks at the fallout from that change, which is especially heavy in the world of employment lawsuits, specifically gender or sexual misconduct claims. How cases are now presented, decision about what gets filed or not filed, and even decisions about mounting (or settling) some kinds of litigation may have to be adjusted in view of the new paradigm.
