Court In CA Decertifies Class Of 38K Costco Workers

A judge in the Southern District of California ruled that individual issues would predominate, as he decertified a class of 38,000 Costco workers who allege they were forced to work off the clock. The issue arose when workers had to remain inside at the end of their shifts while supervisors completed lockdown procedures. This is the second major California employment class action to be decertified in the past several months. In December, a proposed class of 50,000 CVS Caremark Corp. was decertified in the Northern District of California.
