Cohen Wants Trump To Pay His Legal Fees, Judge Skeptical

Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s attempt to get the Trump Organization to pay his legal fees ran into a skeptical judge at a hearing in a New York state court last week. Cohen wants the Trump Organization to pay a current $1.9 million in legal costs as well as fines, restitution and future fees, on the basis of what he maintains was an agreement to pay his costs in connection with investigations relating to his work for the company. A judge in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan appeared to be sympathetic to Trump organization attorney Marc Mukasey’s contention there was no agreement at all, and that the claim is “made up out of thin air.”
