Cohen Suing Trump For Legal Fees

Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen is suing the Trump Organization for nearly $4 million in legal fees and “costs incurred by Mr. Cohen in connection with various matters arising from Mr. Cohen’s work with and on behalf of the Organization and its principals, directors, and officers.” The lawsuit, which was filed in state court in New York, acknowledges that the Trump Organization initially paid Cohen’s legal fees once his troubles began, but says that it stopped paying in June of 2018, once it became clear that he was going to “cooperate in ongoing investigations into his work.” An attorney for the Trump Organization, when contacted by The Washington Post, denied there was an agreement over legal fees and called the lawsuit “an act of desperation.”
