But they run into problems with the expense, the complexity of the task, the speed at which technologies are evolving, and the relentless increase in the amount of data that needs to be managed. Monica Enand, in a Today’s General Counsel article, makes the case that a solution can be found in available cloud software – that it’s predictable, affordable and intuitive. Where there is reluctance, she says, many corporations “are now testing the waters of insourcing e-discovery, starting with relatively simple, routine tasks such as internal investigations, contracts and employment matters.”
