Clinton’s Long SCOTUS Shortlist

Various insiders consider a number of sitting judges and two elected senators with legal backgrounds to be possible nominees for the Supreme Court if Hillary Clinton is elected. Among them are a married couple from California – he a state supreme court judge, she a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California – and President Obama’s stalled nominee Merrick Garland. Their backgrounds and qualifications differ greatly, but one conservative special interest group views them all through the same jaundiced eye. “A Hillary Clinton Supreme Court means your right to own a firearm is gone,” said Chris Cox, the executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action.
