Class Action Claims Google Has Monopolized Internet Searches

A Seattle law firm has filed an antitrust class action against Google, claiming the tech giant “illegally monopolized, and financially and creatively stagnated” Internet searching. By purchasing the Android OS operating system and secretly pre-loading its suite of apps onto the device, Google has kept the selling price of competing devices by Samsung and HTC artificially high, according to the complaint, filed by Hagens Berman in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Freed of the monopoly, the quality of Internet searching would improve, as may Google itself, Hagens Berman says.
