China Could Strengthen IP Protection With New Court

Establishing an intellectual property court to strengthen IP rights, similar to the federal circuit in the U.S., was among numerous economic reform efforts China announced earlier this month. The government set a general deadline of 2020 for achieving “decisive results” from the broad, 21,000-word statement, but some believe establishing an IP court could occur much sooner than that.
