China Investigating Microsoft For Browser Bundling

Chinese regulators have announced they are investigating how Microsoft distributes its Windows Media Player app amid concerns that its current model, which pairs the app with Internet Explorer, is anticompetitive. China isn’t the first country to investigate Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player bundling – the EU and Korea both succeeded in having Microsoft sell editions of the browser without the app, though they took up the case years ago.
