Cheerleader Seeking Class-Action Against NFL Team

A cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders is asking that her lawsuit – which claims she was underpaid, not given appropriate meal or rest breaks, and paid late – be made a class-action so her fellow Raiderettes can take the NFL team on. The suit alleges that the the pay of $1,250 for the season, including $125 per game, means cheerleaders make less than$5 per hour for games, rehearsals, and charity events. The suit also claims that Raiderettes don’t receive their paychecks until the season’s end – with fines and other infractions deducted.
