CFPB Will Scrutinize Bank Debt Collectors

The New York Times reports that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is asserting authority to regulate the debt collection practices of banks. This comes as two other federal regulators, the Federal Trade Commission and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, have also honed in on debt collectors.
