Canada’s Supreme Court Rejects Appointment Of Newest Member

In a stunning move, Canada’s top court voted 6-to-1 that its own newest member, Justice Marc Nadon, is ineligible to serve on on the court. The ruling voids Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Oct. 3 appointment of Nadon, which he can decide without input from Parliament under Canadian law.
