The Texas Supreme Court has ruled that Democrats who left the Lone Star State to stall the adoption of voting rights legislation can be arrested. A spokesperson for Gov Greg Abbot said he was gratified that the Court quickly rejected the Dems dangerous attempt to undermine the State constitution. More than 50 elected Dems fled to Washington D.C. in July to deny the Republicans a quorum for the elections overhaul bill that bans around-the-clock voting centers, voting facilities in outdoor structures and straight-ticket voting and strictly limits the use of ballot drop boxes. A special session is underway to try to pass the legislation for the second time.
