“Business Risk Index” Survey Finds Acute Cyber-Worry

A survey by the insurance company Travelers queried personnel at more than 1200 companies in a variety of industries about what they considered their most significant risks/areas of concern and what they were doing to mitigate them. Results when broken down to include only “legal/professional services” found that cyber and data breach risk ranked number one. Nonetheless, only 34 percent of respondents in that category said they had a data breach response plan in place. In a sign of a modestly improving economy and tighter employment situation, the survey found an uptick in the percentage of firms that said they were concerned about the challenge of finding and retaining skilled labor.
