Breyer Talks Courtroom Sketches… In French

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer gave a talk about the artistry of courtroom sketches, entirely in French. His speech was part of an hour-long forum at the French Cultural Center in Boston, with Noëlle Herrenschmidt, who draws courtroom scenes in France. A Harvard Law professor who attended the talk told the AP that Breyer also spoke about the importance of judges detaching themselves from politics. AP reports that Breyer has said in the past he learned French by reading the works of author Marcel Proust while working as an intern at a law firm in Paris.
