Breach Response Involves Far More Than Technology

Chris Pogue from Nuix explains why responding to a data breach requires a comprehensive response strategy and what the elements of that strategy should include. There was a time, he says, when the only thing organizations thought they needed was a technically oriented “computer security incident response plan.” Now a response needs to extend well beyond technology and into other areas of the business – including legal, human resources, public relations, investor relations, media relations, and governance, risk and compliance – and it needs to be coordinated and “broken down into individual components with project owners based on subject matter expertise.”
