BP Asks Judge To Squelch A Securities Class Action

The company asked the judge in a federal court in Houston to deny class action status in the case where plaintiffs, who allege they were misled both before and after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico blowout, want to be allowed to sue in two groups: a class of 900,000 individual investors and class of institutional investors led by pension funds in New York and Ohio.
