Bob Dylan Sued For Racism In France

A Croation community group in France has filed suit against Bob Dylan over an interview published in Rolling Stone. “If you got a slave master or [Ku Klux] Klan in your blood, blacks can sense that,” Dylan said in the interview, published in September 2012. “That stuff lingers to this day. Just like Jews can sense Nazi blood and the Serbs can sense Croatian blood.” The group is not seeking monetary damages, but wants an apology. A member of the group said they had nothing against Dylan or the magazine, but that it wasn’t right to equate all Coatians with Croatian war criminals. Meanwhile, French authorities have filed preliminary charges against Dylan for “public insults and inciting hate,” referring to the same interview.
