Board, Internal Audit Professionals, Confront Cybersecurity

A road to better cybersecurity and privacy policies leads through the board of directors and the audit committee, according to a recent survey. Protiviti queried 800 internal audit professionals and found a positive correlation between a high level of board engagement in information security and an organization’s perceived ability to manage cybersecurity risk. It also found a correlation between “having defined cybersecurity measures in the annual audit plan and the successful management of cybersecurity risk.” The survey report includes ten recommended cybersecurity action items for audit professionals.
