BNP Paribas’ Georges Chodron de Courcel To Retire In Light Of U.S. Investigation

Georges Chodron de Courcel, one of BNP Paribas’s three chief operating officers, is stepping down in the face of an investigation into whether the bank did business with countries blacklisted by the United States. People briefed on the matter said last week that New York State’s financial regulator has focused on more than a dozen people, including Chodron de Courcel, for dismissal as part of an eventual settlement.
