Shareholder Class-Action Filed Against BlackBerry

A BlackBerry shareholder has filed a class-action lawsuit claiming the company misled investors over the past year by saying it was making financial progress, and that its new product would be well-received by the market. Neither assertion proved true, evidenced by BlackBerry’s recent move to eliminate 40 percent of its workforce, shareholder Marvin Pearlstein said in the filing, which seeks to represent thousands of people who bought stock in the company between September 2012 and September 2013.
