Barney’s Enlists Civil Rights Commissioner After Discrimination Claims

High-end retailer Barney’s has hired a civil rights expert to review customer service policies after two black shoppers said expensive purchases at the store made them the target of police interrogations. Barneys CEO Mark Lee hired Michael Yaki, who serves on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, to review procedures at the store, and issued an apology on the company’s Facebook page.
