Inadvertently giving away intellectual property – or maybe just setting yourself up for an expensive bout of litigation – can be a real risk when working with suppliers in many manufacturing processes. The risk is particularly acute for small and medium-sized businesses that do not have a systematic risk management or similar function as part of their normal operations.
