Attorney Sues Diner For Running Out Of Soup

Arlington, Texas attorney Dwain Downing told the Dallas Morning News that he is suing a diner because it ran out of soup for the lunch special, and refused to discount the price or offer a substitute. In a letter to the owner, the attorney demanded $2.25, the cost of an additional side, plus $250 legal fees. “I’m a lawyer,” said Downing, “and lawyers write letters.” The diner’s owner told the newspaper he doesn’t plan on paying.
