Arent Fox Partner, Spouse, Trigger Change In TSA Gate Policy

Hunter Carter, a commercial law partner in the New York office of Arent Fox LLP, was with his spouse, César Zapata, in the Medellín, Colombia, airport on Jan. 18 when they attempted to check in together for their flight to Miami. American Airlines officials at the airport separated them, as had previously happened to at least two other gay married couples at American Airlines ticket counters, in Medellín and Buenos Aires. American has since apologized to the couple, but the more momentous response came from the TSA in an announcement it made last week.
