Another Price-Scam Lawsuit Hits A Big Retailer

Two plaintiffs in Oregon have filed a putative class action against grocery chain Albertsons. The lawsuit, filed in state court, contends that Albertsons and Safeway stores, also owned by Albertsons, jack up the price of sale-priced meat products before applying a buy-one-get-one-free deal, so that consumers end up paying more per pound than they would under the regular price. The suit alleges the two-for-one deal is unfair and deceptive, in violation of the Oregon Unlawful Trade Practices Act.
