Angry Email Leads To Lawyer’s Censure

Lawyer Frank Panetta will be censured after sending a scathing email to an attorney, now a partner at Brown Rudnick, over an incident that occurred four years previous. Panetta was then representing the plaintiff in a losing negligence suit, and attorney Lauren Curry – then a first-year associate at Debevoise & Plimpton – was serving as jury foreperson. At that time, Panetta told Curry her verdict made no sense and tried to get Debevoise & Plimpton to investigate her. Four years later, Panetta sent Curry an email with the subject line: “ALL THESE YEARS LATER I WILL NEVER FORGET LAUREN THE LIAR.”
