Americans Support Raising Minimum Wage, Offering Sick Leave

Six out of 10 Americans want to see the minimum wage raised, and support a proposal to require employers to offer paid sick leave. By about the same ratio, respondents were in favor of paid time off for new parents. Notably, paid sick leave and maternity/paternity leave also saw support from at least half of Republicans polled. These employment initiatives were among proposals laid out by President Barack Obama in his State of the Union address last month.
