Amazon Workers Reject Union Proposal

Amazon workers at a Delaware warehouse voted against creating the company’s first union in the U.S. this week. The vote, 21-6, was among workers who repair and keep equipment at the factory running, not the packers and shippers who make up most of the work force at the Amazon facility. A spokesman for The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, whch helped organize the workers, said that Amazon called the employees into meetings to tell them why they didn’t need a union, as part of an anti-union campaign.
