Agentic AI in Compliance: Building a 24/7 Digital Compliance Team
October 14, 2025

In an article by Tom Fox of the Compliance Podcast Network, he describes a core shift in corporate compliance, from manual oversight to the use of agentic AI in compliance. At the heart of this change is KonaAI, a company Fox advises, and its “Agent Persona Development” model, which develops specialized digital assistants that work across various compliance areas, including investigations, vendor risk, sales monitoring, hotlines, and policy management.
Each AI “agent” in KonaAI’s model serves as a domain expert. Stan, the Investigations Assistant, integrates DOJ, ACFE, and COSO frameworks to contextualize compliance risks. Linda manages vendor due diligence and contract monitoring. Sonny tracks sales data for red flags. Raquel analyzes hotline trends, while Eva provides on-demand policy guidance using generative AI. Penny interprets cultural and sentiment data, and Lohitha coordinates insights across all agents. Together, they convert siloed compliance information into a unified, proactive risk intelligence system.
Fox argues this agentic model turns compliance into a real-time, data-driven command center rather than a reactive function. It embodies what he calls a “compliance team that never sleeps,” with AI handling analysis, triage, and reporting overnight. However, he cautions that this power also demands heightened governance. Transparency, fairness, and ethical oversight must evolve in tandem with technology to prevent bias and maintain accountability.
Adopting agentic AI in compliance is not about replacing human judgment; rather, it is about amplifying it. When used responsibly, Fox writes, these digital assistants transform compliance into a strategic, continuously adaptive discipline, one that aligns operational integrity with business excellence.
