Abusive Judge Lied Under Oath

A judicial committee of the federal Judicial Conference wrote a letter in which it detailed its finding that U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller physically abused his wife, a charge that Fuller denied under oath when his conduct was under investigation. Fuller has since resigned. The letter surfaced as the federal judiciary announced a new policy of making the results of judicial misconduct investigations available to the public. Should Congress decline to pursue impeachment given Fuller’s resignation, the Judicial Conference said, the letter “may also serve as a public censure of Judge Fuller’s reprehensible conduct, which has no doubt brought disrepute to the Judiciary.”
