GAO Study Targets Executive Pay At Defense Contractors

Current cap on contractor executive salary is $763,029. Critics from the White House and Congress have argued that limit is too high, and recently the GAO considered a  hypothetical lower limit that some critics have broached. The study found that if the cap were reduced to the level of the salary of the vice president of the United States – $230,700 – then 3400 employees among the 27 defense contractors that replied to an inquiry would have exceeded the cap.
