Cyber Becomes Part of the Business

Deloitte Global’s 2023 Future of Cyber survey reveals that cyber’s role within organizations as an enabler is growing. It is consistently becoming a focal point for business-critical initiatives and investments. In many organizations, cyber has grown far beyond its technology roots to become more tightly woven into business operations, outcomes, and opportunities. As a result, cyber strategies are shifting from IT to business, focusing on supporting strategic business objectives and growth. The survey results provide insights into organizations that are more mature in their approach to cyber and their cyber efforts’ impact on the business in areas such as customer and digital trust, operational stability, and revenue. The findings suggest organizations with high cyber maturity have adopted leading practices in cyber planning, cyber activities, and board engagement. These leading practices are possible when stakeholders recognize the importance of cyber responsibility and engagement across organizations.
