CEO Pay Dwarfs Workers' At Discovery, Chipotle, CVS

Discovery Communications CEO David M. Zaslav is paid about 1,951 times that of the company’s average worker, the largest such gap in a new study by jobs and recruiting company Glassdoor. Zaslav made $156 million in 2014, while median pay for a Discovery employee is about $80,000. That wage differential wasn’t far off from Chipotle, where the CEO pay is 1,522 to one, and CVS Health, where it sits at 1,192 to 1. Glassdoor called the study a “sneak preview” into the types of numbers set to be disclosed by publicly traded companies under the SEC’s recently-adopted CEO pay rule. The survey was based on 441 large, publicly-traded companies listed in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index.
