High Court Won't Intervene In Gay Conversion Ban

A challenge to New Jersey’s law prohibiting state-licensed counselors from offering therapy services that try to change a minor’s sexual orientation was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court. Two therapist had appealed the New Jersey Circuit Court of Appeals decision to uphold the state ban, citing violations of their free speech and freedom of religion rights. The New Jersey court ruled that the law does not seek to target or burden religious practices or beliefs.
