Retaliation Is Common Despite Anti-Retaliation Policies

Anti-retaliation policies are pervasive in U.S. corporations but retaliation is pretty common too, according to a blog on the Converscent site. Most such policies have little impact because they go unread or are quickly forgotten after being read, according to the author, who did some research in order to reach his conclusions. “Retaliation wouldn’t really happen here,” is how he characterizes the usual attitude. He suggests some tools for devising a real-time compliance tool using HR data including annual performance review markings, pay raises, bonuses, disciplinary actions, overtime awards, recognition and career progression. It will allow organizations to have effective no retaliation policies and be able to prove it if the occasion arises.
