Most of them are so far up the creek that they need lawyers of their own, and they vie with one another to see how nasty they can talk. Kasowitz replied to a critical email from a woman by telling her to“Watch your back, bitch” and “Call me…you piece of shit.” And the recently contrite Michael Cohen told a reporter who asked him a probing question about his then-client the Trump Organization – “I’m warning you, tread very fucking lightly, because what I’m going to do to you is going to be fucking disgusting. You understand me?” The article also makes rueful reference to the fact that the once obvious distinction between white-shoe lawyer and ambulance chaser is no longer clear. Consider the case of David Boies, who still keeps a civil tongue in his mouth but famously signed a contract with Israeli undercover operatives to dig up dirt on the accusers of the serial rapist Harvey Weinstein.
