Proactive Approach To Data Protection

Threat intelligence is a process of identifying and collecting data, and analyzing artifacts from the past to create an actionable plan for mitigating future threats. It is not about providing responses to a breach after the fact. Most organizations put fewer resources into gathering intelligence and understanding threats than they do on detection solutions, and training employees. Because they have intelligence, attackers are able to enter networks and easily move around, even with prevention and detection systems in place. Likewise, intelligence surrounding threats can provide an organization with an advantage over an attacker. It starts with looking at your security plan and identifying critical assets that need protection. Programs need to be tailored based an organization’s size, industry, technology reliance, and other criteria.
