Information Security As Legal/Business Partnership

In this Today’s General Counsel article, the legal counsel and the chief security officer at one company’s Defense and Aerospace Division detail the so-called Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and they suggest it’s a good roadmap for any company trying to establish an effective program. Rigorous compliance, they maintain, should not be considered as sunk cost or minimal value-add activity. Rather, it should be viewed as an opportunity for the legal team to strengthen its credibility and its relationship with its business partners, at the same time as it reduces risk.
