Bailey Still Zealously Representing OJ

In a recent podcast, famed criminal lawyer F. Lee Bailey described himself as a doctor striving to cure the US of a plague of more than two decades duration – Simpson-loathing. He is still determined to show the world that his client was innocent of murdering his wife, Nicole, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
I get people to listen in groups, he says, “but I think the inoculation wears off after a while. They get the disease back.” Those old enough to remember the case aren’t sympathetic to his claims that Nicole Simpson was mistakenly murdered by “Colombian or Cuban assassins” who were hired to kill a friend of hers for unpaid drug debts, but Millenials are intrigued, he says. According to Bailey, the case LA police put together was “pure bullshit” and Marcia Clarke, who led the prosecution, “wasn’t the brightest lawyer I ever met.” The podcasts and small group sessions he leads are also a way to vent about the punishment he says the judiciary meted out because he had the temerity to represent Simpson. “Lawyers and judges have remonstrated with me for prostituting my talents because, they say, I was the reason O.J. got acquitted,” is his claim. Now 84, he no longer practices law because both Florida and Massachusetts took his licenses away.
